Ronnie and Paulette Shores Scholarship Fund
This scholarship endowed in 2007 by Nina Pemberton and the Milan Area Schools was established to provide scholarships to Milan High School graduating seniors who have a physical disability. Verification of the physical disability is required by a medical doctor (MD or DO) and must be submitted with the application.
Award: (1) up to $8,000 – $2,000 per year for four years
- Graduating Senior who has a physical disability that has had an impact on their high school career. Verification of the physical disability is required by a medical doctor (MD or DO) and must be submitted with the application. In accordance with the wishes of the donor, preference will be given to an amputee.
- Payments will be made directly to the school or program, which the student is attending. Scholarship money is not to be used for books.
- Qualifying institutions may be a college or university, community college, or vocational program and need not be in the state of Michigan.
- Attendance may be full or part time as the student’s disability allows but must be continuous and all classes must be relevant to the degree or course they are pursuing. All currently active scholarships will be reviewed by the scholarship committee each year and extensions may be provided where special circumstances apply.
