The Greater Milan Area Community Foundation makes community investments in programs that serve to enhance quality of life in our community…For Good. For Ever.

Grants from the GMACF support individuals and families from all walks of life, and enhance community prosperity throughout the Greater Milan Area.

Eligibility Criteria

The Greater Milan Area Community Foundation supports nonprofit organizations and programs that we believe are capable of achieving significant impact in the greater Milan area.

Organizations that are recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or that are sponsored by a nonprofit organization, and serve greater Milan area residents are eligible to apply for grants.

Application Due Dates

Application start date: June 1, 2019
Application end date: July 15, 2019

Please deliver your original, signed grant application and eight (8) copies to:

GMACF Grant Funds

Aid-in-Milan Fund

This special fund was established by the Jones Insurance Agency and produces a permanent income establishing the long-term local charity to carry out it’s mission of helping people in need.

Armitage/Brainard Milan Beautification Fund

Established in 2010 for projects that beautify public space.

Milan Seniors for Healthy Living

MSHL is a non-profit organization committed to providing activities, programs, services, and referrals designed to enhance quality of life and encourage aging with independence and dignity in the Milan, MI area.

Carol A. Mohr/Margaret Walls Fund

For the purchase of furnishings, books, and electronic equipment in the children and young adult departments of the Milan Public Library.

Fayne & Joanne McGovern Youth Endowment Fund

Supports community activities and programs for young people ranging in age from birth to 18 years.

Milan Area Community Enrichment Fund

This fund is the backbone of the foundation. Donations are invested and only the earnings are spent, not only for programs happening today, but assuring that money will be available in the future.

Milan Public Library Enrichment Fund

Used for general Milan Public Library improvements.

Milan Area Historical Society Endowment Fund

Established by Milan Area Historic Society. This fund was created for the preservation, maintenance, and repair of various Historic Society buildings including the Old Fire Barn and the Friend-Hack House Museum. The museum houses local history, artifacts, and the items from Milan families are on display and is open to the public. (see the website for details).

Mildred Sheehan Fund

For the purchase of new books, books on tape, and videos at the Milan Public Library.

Millard and Marie Phillips Trust

Support new program development, upgrading of existing programs, expansion of the genealogy collection, resource materials, and electronic equipment for public use at the Milan Public Library.
