National Council of Nonprofit Associations
provides links to state and regional nonprofit associations.
National Center for Family Philanthropy
, a nonprofit organization supported by family foundations,
assists families and individuals in implementing their philanthropic
goals. The site provides access to a full range of center publications.
Forum of Regional Associations of
Grantmakers is supported by the Council on Foundations and
offers useful links to its 26 members' regional grantmaking organizations
as well as to regional associations of nonprofits.
Independent Sector is a
national organization that encourages philanthropy via research
and policy with links to hundreds of nonprofit member organizations

BBB
Wise Giving Alliance provides financial analyses, programs,
and fundraising information on nonprofit organizations based on
BBB standards and on previous background requests.
Foundation Center is supported
by major national foundations to provide information and publications
about all types of foundations.
Guidestar includes a searchable
database of the more than 650,000 organizations that are recognized
as nonprofit by the Internal Revenue Service. Information is included
on organizations' programs, geographic service areas, assets, income,
and types of funding. The site also includes articles on philanthropy
and charitable giving.

Dept. of the Treasury Through their office of Frozen Asset
Control regularly updates its list of charitable organizations and

National Network of Grantmakers
provides information from a network of grantmakers that support

Newtithing Group , founded
by philanthropist Claude Rosenberg, encourages charitable giving
and includes a calculating tool to determine how much an individual
can comfortably donate to charity.
